Rally legend Metro 6R4 set to return

Welsh-based MST, creators of the amazing 'brand new' road, track or rally MK 1 and Mk 2 'not Ford Escorts', have announced plans to build an all-new Metro 6R4 Group B rallying legend.
However, MST's version will comprise a carbon fibre body, a modern V6 engine, all-wheel-drive and a sequential transmission. Details are light at this early stage though rumour has it that the engine would be sourced from Audi with power ranging from 350PS (257kW) to 450PS (330kW) as standard, with various power specifications available.
Bodies will be made by Innovative Composites and these will be wrapped around new 6R4 steel shells, complete with the original cage built by MST utilising the original jigs.
As with the 'not Escorts', MST look set to offer two model specs, a relatively refined road-going version and no holds barred track beast. Prices are expected to be £300,000 plus, with production at around 10 cars per year. First deliveries are planned for next year. Watch this space!
